Supporting and managing volunteers

Volunteers are possibly the most important resource community organisations will ever have.

The ability of people to work willingly together for the betterment of their community and themselves is an extremely valuable resource.

Typically volunteers find the donation of their time and energy a meaningful experience for themselves as well as for the organisation.

The key to managing volunteers is establishing and maintaining a creative climate. And within this climate it is vital that you help volunteers work co-operatively and towards an agreed set of goals and objectives.

Understanding the principles of supporting and managing volunteers will be vital to the success of any project.

This topic and many others are covered in the link below to the Volunteering England website.
